Sandestin is situated on the most beautiful beaches in the country. The resort is
nestled on 2,480 spectacular acres between both the emerald waters of the Gulf of
Mexico and the quiet shores of the Choctawhatchee Bay. Sandestin's superb natural
location, make it a particularly unique resort destination.
Boogie
Board/Body Surfing
This year one of the best ways to enjoy the beach and surf is by body surfing. If
you decide to try out our complimentary boogie boards, here are a couple of tips:
Don't surf directly to shore. Angle left or right on the wave in water deep enough
not to hit bottom.

Parasailing
Catch some air from a parasail boat. "What's up!" as it propels you over
the Gulf of Mexico. Make sure to keep your eyes open for the dolphins. There are many
parasail providers to choose from.
Snorkeling
Venture off-property to the nearby Destin Jetties, at the western end of Holiday
Isle, to see angelfish, grouper, amberjack, crabs, puffers, pompano, dolphin and
other aquatic life. The depth ranges from extremely shallow to moderately deep (up
to 35 feet). You might also try under the Destin Bridge. Snorkeling conditions and
marine life here are similar to the jetties. Snorkel at high tide at both locations
for the best visibility and slowest current. Boat rentals are available at Sandestin
Baytowne Marina or in the heart of Destin near Fort Walton Bridge.
